Anita O'Day is just like any normal human being even though she suffers in everyday stresses like we do normally but she did it for us - putting decent songs for us to calm ourselves for rest of our lives.
We need people like Anita O'Day, Alma Cogan and Deanna Durbin to continue the music traditions.

I've loved Anita O'Day for many years. When Verve records formed and wanted to cut it's first album, they chose Anita over Ella and Sarah.
I think she's the greatest jazz singer that ever lived. She performed until she was 85 and could still do Honeysuckle Rose.
I wish they had a vid of her singing Peel Me a Grape.

Are you kidding me? I think you have your genres mixed up. She was mainly a bebop performer. Cool jazz consists of much less improvisation.
