One could argue that opinions are usefull because if we didn't have an opinion about a certain thing, we wouldn't care about that thing, in which case we wouldn't do anything about that thing. So nothing would get done...at all. And thats bad. If the Allies in WW2 had no opinion of if the Nazi's were bad or not. And didn't care. Bad things would happen. So yeah, kinda useful. And I don't really know how you admire ignorance.

well WW2 started with the nazi's hating jews,gipsy's,blacks, etc. (opinion!) So opinions can be bad aswell. and if we didn't care about anything life would be so much easier. you see everything we've done was because of opinions: all the good and bad things. but the idea of survival of the fittest is gone because of it, i mean to say all the bad things in the world are because of people. now most of the good things aren't.
