It's pretty much a fictionalized version of the French and Indian war on both sides. You can really sense how brutal life was at the time, and how the Indians lived better than a lot of the white settlers.

Great movie, and fairly historically accurate. Does any know for SURE where the "end scene" was filmed? I know the credits say Asheville,N.C. I believe that the lacrosse scene was filmed in Upstate NY, which is rich in Native American history.

Your facts are wrong. The soundtrack was done by Randy Eldeman and Trevor Jones. The track is called Promentory. However to get the full 8 minute version you may have to look up the recording sessions (complete score) to get it as the one on the official soundtrack release is nearly cut in half.
