Untrue. In 2003, following a political controversy that erupted on a London stage during a live performance, the Dixie Chicks' management approached the American Red Cross and inquired about a promotional partnership for their forthcoming tour. There was no offer for an unrestricted donation to the Red Cross; rather, the "offer" was actually a business proposal. "
From the Red Cross org site itself.
From the Red Cross org site. They are so low, they would use the Red Cross to make themselves look like victims.
Maines: Oh, my God, yes. We never in a million years knew people were listening to what we said. Like Emily said, we never use the stage as a place to preach our political beliefs or spiritual beliefs. And we still won't. And that's not what I was doing that night either"-- Syndicated radio interview with Bob Kingsley, 4/24/03
And now you righteous supporters know the truth.
"This is obnoxious, obnoxious," said Vieira. "We started these girls -- back in 1998, they couldn't get arrested. We were one of the first national shows to give them a platform, because they deserved a platform."

Im from Australia and I totally agree with you Natalie Maines said what everyone else thought but was to scared to say. Our Troops are also there with you and suffering. It has been 5 years since that comment was made and the majority of the Australian public are with her we support our troops but do not support this war. Be it for me to say but a programme was aired here not long ago showing George Bush admit he lied to the American Public about weapons of mass destruction

I don't care either way, but to say the incident has had no effect on their careers is just not true.
They have sold several million copies of their last 2 CD's.
