When I was about 15-16 years old, Laurie Anderson was the first women role model who inspired me to become interested in film, music, and art. I'll never forget seeing her film Home of the Brave. She is definately ahead of her time.

Adrian Belew played guitar on the live version of the song. It was actually Nile Rodgers' who played on the studio version. He also produced this track, as well.

The original version of this (on the epic "United States I-IV" [live] multi-record set) is far less "commercial" and has extensive vocoder. This version is fantastic (and punchier) but the "US I-IV" live version is more...off-center... Just my opinion.
