To Americans the regional accents are really obvious, but to people from outside the States, believe it or not, you all just sound like Americans. If we hear an American talking we don't think- hey, he's from California, or Boston, or wherever- we just hear an American.

one day my pearents went out for dinner, then a babysitter came along with a clown, but the clown was a murderer, he kills relentless and he killed everyone and once the perents came home the male tried to defend but he failed he chainsawed his head off and the mom, well... shes history.

There are regional accents in EVERY large country, I think. I had a friend from Finland that spoke with a different rhythm because his hometown is on the Swedish border, and he grew up speaking Swedish as well as Finnish. I could hear it in his speech patterns.

I could only tell if someone was from Brooklyn. :D I can distinguish between two other dialects beside that. There's the normal quite weak intellectual accent. Then there's the annoying stereotypical Texan-type accent. In Britain there's too many!
