I am sorry to have to correct you on this but she is not singing opera. She is singing a prayer. Faryl is not an opera singer, she is a classical singer. As for your other point. This is only year two of Britain's Got Talent. Last year an opera singer won. This year we had Faryl and a choirboy in the final. No opera singers. Opera is drama in which the text is sung rather than spoken. It has nothing to do with how loudly it is sung. All opera singers are classical singers. Not all classical singers are opera singers. So good singing depends on whether you can understand the words eh? Well I have to say that I can't understand the words that most pop singers squawk in what passes for their versions of English. Faryl was singing in Latin and I can tell you that she has perfect diction. You are obviously not a fan of classical music, which this is, it is not opera. She would choose to sing classical songs because that is the music she prefers to perform. And it is no more horrible than any other genre.
