The World Health Organization(WHO) is one of the specialized agencies of United Nations. The philosophy of WHO is that people around the world can live in the highest level of health. And it provides technical support to countries and monitories and assesses health trends.
Our country, Taiwan, was the member of WHO, but in 1971, Taiwan was forced to leave the United Nations and subsequently all UN affiliated organizations, such as the WHO when the people's Republic of China was admitted to the UN. Taiwan needs immediate access to up-to-date disease control information and in a global community, the whole world is vulnerable to global diseases that call for global collaboration and global response to prevent and control.
Pandemics don't discriminate, nor do they know national boundaries. Taiwan's exclusion from the WHO prevents it from taking part in the WHO for the allocation of vaccines and other disease control supplies. People in Taiwan are exposed to some threats as many other countries. WHO should protect all members of international community and Taiwan's medical technique can help a lot to many other poor countries. The achievement is to be there for all to see. So put your support for Taiwan to participate WHO!
